Setting apart of sprouts from the uterine plants of vegetatively propagated rootstocks

There is a busy season at the researched fields of Uman NUH: second-year students of the Faculty of Horticulture, Environment and Plant Protection pass educational-production practice, during which they set apart and choose rootstocks for planting in the ground. This troublesome process of separating sprouts from the uterine plant is accompanied by sorting: rootstocks of  I and II varieties are planted in the field for inoculation, and the third variety – to completion of growing. Excessively thick rootstocks will be used for winter  inoculation. Precedes the process of separating the sprouts from the uterine plant, defoliation – tearing off leaves. Luxuriant spring flowering of apple trees preceded by intense activity of the employees of Educational-Research and Production Department, lecturers and students.
