Students’ Scientific Conference devoted to 210th anniversary of the birth of Director of Main School of Gardening, Professor Alexander Nordman

On March 20-21, students’ scientific conference devoted to 210th anniversary of the birth of Director of Main School of Gardening, Professor Alexander Nordman was held at the university.
Encouraging students to conduct researches is one of the priorities of current activity of Uman National University of Horticulture. At present fundamental and applied scientific researches on topical problems of development of agricultural sector in our country are being conducted at the university.

The conference began with a plenary meeting. Acting vice-rector for research and innovation, Doctor of agricultural sciences, Professor V.P.Karpenko said the opening speech. He stressed that such conferences are not only the opportunity to exchange ideas and to present the results of researches, but also a chance to meet new people and to get unforgettable impressions.
 

Dean of Agronomy Department, candidate of agricultural sciences, associate professor A.T.Martyniuk congratulated the participants.

The students made informative and well-grounded reports.

During the plenary session the participants discussed many issues in various scientific fields.

On March 21, second plenary meeting of the conference was held. There the results of the scientific conference were summed up and the winners of the first round of the All-Ukrainian contest of students’ scientific works were awarded with certificates and prizes.
